Some families contact Time 4 Us themselves. Others are referred through family support or legal services. Time 4 Us has managed to achieve some very good outcomes in a very short time for those using our service.

An evaluation carried out by NUI Galway found:

  • Improved bonding and a better relationship between child and parent.
  • Reduced conflict, improved trust and improved communication between them.
  • Increased access time: weekend visits often extend to after-school visits during the week.
  • Improved behaviour in children and better performance at school.
  • The Centre also provides a gateway to services like family support and mediation.

Time 4 Us has found that, due to the provision of the service, fewer family cases are going to court about access. Instead, solicitors representing each parent facilitate an agreement to use Time 4 Us without the necessity of a court case.

Time 4 Us provides a venue where children in foster care can meet up with their parents and brothers and sisters.
